Specialized focus

Gestational surrogacy & intended parents

Gestational surrogacy brings unique emotional, relational, and logistical dimensions that general parenting classes rarely touch on.

You have invested deep energy, love, and planning into creating your family. This program is designed to accompany you through every step of the threshold, so the home, partnership, and environment your baby steps into is rooted in safety, deep connection, and peace. As an area of specialized expertise in my practice, we address the distinct layers of third-party reproduction:

  • Navigating the Emotional Landscape: Holding space for the hope, anxiety, waiting periods, and complex dynamics of working with a surrogate and agency.
  • Protecting the Partnership Under High Stress: Keeping your relationship strong, intimate, and aligned during the high-stakes surrogacy process.
  • Preparing for Immediate Bonding: Creating clear, intentional rituals and biological connection strategies for intended parents at the moment of birth and in early postpartum.

Grounded in research

The Gottman blueprint

67%see a sharp drop in relationship satisfaction within three years of a baby’s arrival
33%the “Masters,” who stay content and grow closer

Source: research by Drs. John & Julie Gottman, The Gottman Institute

Seminal research from Dr. John and Julie Gottman and The Gottman Institute revealed a striking reality: 67% of couples experience a sharp decline in relationship satisfaction within the first three years of bringing home a baby.

When “we” becomes “three,” sleep deprivation, identity shifts, altered intimacy, and unexpressed stress can subtly strain even the most loving partnerships. Non-gestational parents often feel crowded out or unsure of their role, while primary caregivers can feel overwhelmed and unappreciated.

However, the Gottmans’ 16 longitudinal studies also revealed the “Masters” of transition: the 33% of couples who remained content and grew even closer. Our program acts as an insurance policy for your partnership, teaching you the research-backed tools these couples use to protect their connection, foster infant development, and lower the risk of postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.
